Q: What is Seijaku no Marionette?

A: Seijaku no Marionette is a translation group which includes Penny and Kanoi.

Q: What does “Seijaku no Marionette” mean?

A: Marionette of Silence.

Q: Are your translations authorized?

Our translations are not authorized; however, through translating, we seek to spread the original pieces and Japanese culture. If you love a particular piece, please consider supporting the author/artist by purchasing the original piece. WE DO NOT BEAR THE LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY.

Q: I really like XXX, when will you post the next chapter/section?

A: Please check the Schedule page.

Q: Why do you need money?

A: We demand a wordpress.org website to prevent our contents get copied; however, hosting it costs $48.48/year if we pay by one year. We also need money to purchase raws to translate.

Q: How can I donate?

A: You can go to the Donations page and donate via PayPal.

Q: What are the benefits of donating?

A: We can continue the website to provide you with translations. Also, you’ll have access to the Special page for a period of time.

Q: What is the Special page?

A: (This answer only applies after we have purchased a wordpress.org domain) We want to appreciate your donations through the Special page. Everything on that page will be original, and will change at the beginning at each calendar month.

Q: What is the time limit of accessing the Special page?

A: (This answer only applies after we have purchased a wordpress.org domain) If you donate before the 25th of the current month, you’ll have access to the Special page until the end of the current calendar month; If you donate after the 25th of the current month, your access will be activated at the beginning of the following calendar month, so that you can have more time to access it. However, if you really want to see the current month’s Special page, be sure to leave a note on PayPal when you donate! Please note that after you donate, it may take some time before you can access the page. If you donate $20.00 or more at once, you can access to all the contents in the current calendar year. Since more contents will be added to the same page, if you donate before 11/25, remember to check back for more contents! Also, if you donate $20.00 or more and only have access to the current month’s Special page in months other than January, please go to the Contact page and contact us as soon as possible.

Q: After I donate, how long will it for me to be able to access the Special page?

A: (This answer only applies after we have purchased a wordpress.org domain) Since we have to verify every single donor, please allow 48 hours for us to get your account ready. We’ll notify you via email when you have access to the Special page. If you have not received an email from us 48 hours after donating, please go to the Contact page and contact us as soon as possible.

Q: If I’m one of your patrons on Patreon, will I be able to access the Special page without donating via PayPal again?

A: (This answer only applies after we have purchased a wordpress.org domain) Since we do not and will not charge anything on Patreon, the only way accessing the Special page is donating via PayPal.

Q: May I request something to be translated?

A: Of course! You can always request a translation of any songs or books in Japanese; however, we DO NOT guarantee that we are able to fulfill your request. We will not translate anything that contains any of the following elements for sure:

  • Adult contents
  • Already translated by others
  • Novels/manga that have been started by other translation groups and those groups have not officially announced that they will stop translating
  • Songs that are released more than one year ago
  • Drama CDs
  • Videos
  • Games
  • Interviews
  • Blogs, tweets
  • Anything that is difficult or unreasonably expensive to obtain, unless you can provide the sources (see below for the requirements of the sources)

After confirming that what you’re requesting does not contain any of the elements mentioned above, you can go the Contact page and fill out the form.

If you’re providing anything to be translated, make sure that

  • For novels and manga, you are able to provide all the released volumes from the series that you’re requesting
  • For novels
    • Provide the series in .txt files. One file contains one chapter only
    • If the author did not break the chapters into multiple sections, make sure the length of each chapter is reasonable
    • If the series comes with illustrations, provide a scan of each illustration. Please consult the “For manga” bullet point for the requirements of illustrations
  • For manga
    • Provide the series in .jpg files. One file contains one page only
    • All pictures are clear
    • For every single picture, at least one dimension has to exceed 1000 px
    • No watermarks
  • For song lyrics
    • The song is provided in a .mp3 file (320 kpbs)
    • Provide a scan of the page in the booklet that contains the lyrics of the song that you’re requesting. The scan does not have to meet all the requirements in the “For manga” bullet point, but the words in the scan have to be clearly visible

Q: May I ask a question?

Q: Will you read through every single request/question?

A: Yes, we will. Although we may not be able to reply to every single of them, we will read through everyone.

Q: I really love XXX, may I have a copy of its translation?

A: If you want the lyrics of a song translated by us, you are welcome to go to the Contact page and request a copy of its lyrics. We will send the lyrics to you via email. However, we will not send copies of any novels or manga.

Q: May I join your translation group?

A: Although we’d like to have you as a part of our group, we do not need new member currently. However, we may need your help in the future, so please check our page frequently!
